Nic Stuchfield
Nic has spent his whole career in the Financial Services industry and has a unique range of experience. During 16 years with Barclays (and its former Investment Banking subsidiary BZW), Nic progressively increased his responsibilities, becoming COO of the global Equities business of BZW until 1995. He then played a major role in the acquisition of Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisers by Barclays, relocating to the San Francisco HQ of the newly-formed Barclays Global Investors, the world’s largest index fund manager. There he was both COO and Global Head of Indexed Investments. He returned to the UK in 1997 to become the CEO of the Tradepoint Stock Exchange (now called Virt-x), where he was responsible for restoring relationships between the exchange and the investment banking community. Nic left Tradepoint in the middle of 1999 and created the Stuchfield Consultancy in the autumn of that year, where he was Managing Director until June 2004.
In 2001, Nic became a non-executive Director (and subsequently Chairman) of Totem Market Valuations Limited, the world leader in derivatives valuations, culminating in the sale of TMV to Mark-It Partners in mid-2004.
In mid-2003, Nic was invited to become Managing Director of EDX London, the derivatives exchange subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange and OMX of Sweden and, in early 2004, his role at the LSE was expanded to include becoming Head of Corporate Development, a function which includes corporate strategy, research and business planning.
